Making Our History (Illinois Virtual Residency)

I participated in an innovative year-long residency with the University of Illinois Springfield called “Making Our History: Artists Render Lincoln’s Legacies." Along with 19 other Illinois artists, we collectively created 20 original artworks on Abraham Lincoln’s legacies.

My sculpture titled "I Will Become All One Thing Or All The Other" choreographs wood, paint, text, childhood toys, and imagery from Lincoln's life into paradoxes of sturdy and precarious, red and blue, playful and serious, aspirational and elegiac. It was exhibited at the Lincoln Presidential Library in Springfield, IL during the fall of 2022.
